The Garden Project
In the summer of 2009 the idea of developing a garden project was suggested by a group of ISSA Wales service users. Some of whom requested space to grow vegetables and plants in our garden.
Since then the initiative snow balled into coming one of our most initiative programs. The garden programmer is now called the Nurture Nature project. The aim of the project is to provide a safe space for those seeking a therapeutic experience through gardening; we hope the garden will give the individuals a sense of inclusiveness and purpose regardless of their mental health or social background.
It will help individuals to find relaxation and satisfaction through the achievement of seeing the garden through different transitional stages of growth.
We are currently in the process of securing funding from Environment Wales in the hope of expanding the programme.
